Best MT5 Brokers

Compare MetaTrader 5 brokers using regulation, legal entities, trading costs, product access and BrokerSafari evidence research.

Quick Answer

MetaTrader 5 is trading software; it does not regulate the broker or guarantee a particular spread, execution result or market. The providers below have official platform material describing MT5 in at least one named market. Availability is not universal: verify the account entity, country eligibility, supported products, account type and current fee schedule before relying on an MT5 feature.

MT5 Brokers Compared

These entries have an official MT5 source link and a BrokerSafari review. The MT5 evidence is market-specific: a platform page for an Australian, UK, EU or global entity must not be read as evidence that the same product is available in the United States. FOREX.com is listed separately because its cited page is a US MT5-for-FX page.

The Evidence Score comes from each full BrokerSafari review. It is not an MT5 quality score and does not compare platform execution or software reliability. Cards are not ranked by score; the feature note identifies the source and entity scope that should be checked next.

What Is MetaTrader 5?

MetaTrader 5 is a multi-asset trading terminal developed by MetaQuotes. Brokers may connect customer accounts to it and configure the instruments, prices, execution rules and services available under that broker’s own agreement. A demo login, downloadable installer or platform tutorial does not prove that a broker accepts customers in a particular country.

MT5 includes charting, technical tools, order entry and support for automated strategies. Those software capabilities do not establish that an automated strategy is permitted by a provider, that every order type is enabled or that a particular instrument is offered.

How We Compare MT5 Brokers

We require an official platform source before saying MT5 is offered. We then treat the broker’s entity and regulator evidence, account agreement, costs, product details and country eligibility as separate research questions. If an official source does not answer a question, the review marks it as unconfirmed rather than filling in a global claim.

Compare the same product and account type. A standard account may use spread-only pricing while a raw account may add commission. Minimum spreads, leverage and available instruments can be limited by the provider’s legal entity, local rules and customer classification.

MT5 vs MT4, Fees and Devices

MT4 and MT5 are distinct software products. Features, indicators, order types and account compatibility can differ. A broker may offer one without the other, or provide different instruments across them. Verify the platform name in the account-opening flow rather than relying on a generic marketing page.

MT5 can be used on desktop, web and mobile where the broker and platform support those connections. Device support does not remove the need for account-level verification. Fees remain governed by the broker agreement; compare spread, commission, financing, conversion and any payment charges. See our guide to forex trading on a MacBook for installation and browser options.

Broker Regulation Still Matters

MetaQuotes supplies software, not a broker licence. Check the legal entity named in the account agreement against the regulator’s own register and confirm that its permissions cover the service. A broker with an MT5 server in one country may not serve residents of another.

For a US-specific comparison, see the separate MT5 brokers in the USA page. It does not import international MT5 names into a US list; it applies a US account and regulator test.

Broker comparison

BrokerSafari scores describe recorded evidence, coverage and confidence. They are not investment ratings, suitability findings or guarantees.

Pepperstone

8.1 / 10Evidence Score
Evidence confidence:
medium
Evidence coverage:
78.5%
Regulatory status:
Verified regulator record located
Relevant evidence:
Official platform pages describe MetaTrader 5 and associated account access.
Scope:
Platform and pricing disclosures differ by regional entity.

Pepperstone offers leveraged CFD and spread-betting services through region-specific companies, platforms and account terms. BrokerSafari located the FCA record for Pepperstone Limited (FRN 684312); that record does not establish which entity would serve every reader. Official pricing pages describe spread, commission and overnight-funding costs, while live execution and withdrawals were not tested.

8.1 / 10Evidence Score
Evidence confidence:
medium
Evidence coverage:
78.5%
Regulatory status:
Verified regulator record located
Relevant evidence:
IC Markets Global provides MT5 account and platform information.
Scope:
Global MT5 page; it does not establish US resident access.

IC Markets operates through jurisdiction-specific entities and offers leveraged CFD trading on several platforms. CySEC’s register identifies IC Markets (EU) Ltd (licence 362/18); the brand’s global pages name other companies, which should not be treated as covered by the EU licence. Published account pages explain variable spreads, commissions and funding terms. BrokerSafari did not test live pricing, execution or withdrawals.

FP Markets

6.4 / 10Evidence Score
Evidence confidence:
low
Evidence coverage:
76%
Regulatory status:
Provider-disclosed only

FP Markets publishes MT5 support across desktop, web and mobile product pages.

The cited regional page is not a global authorization or eligibility list.

FP Markets offers leveraged CFDs through regional legal entities and platforms including MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView. Its official pages disclose Australian, Cypriot, Seychelles, South African and Mauritius companies and licence references. BrokerSafari could not independently retrieve a current ASIC record for First Prudential Markets Pty Ltd during this review, so the cited AFSL is provider-disclosed here. Fees and payment terms vary by entity; live trading and withdrawals were not tested.

The FCA register identifies OANDA Europe Limited (FRN 542574); OANDA’s own public disclosures list additional US, Singapore, Australian, Polish and other entities. Products, fees, payment methods and protections depend on the applicable company. BrokerSafari reviewed public documents only and did not test an account, live pricing or withdrawals.
