Forex Brokers in the UAE: How to Check Regulation

Research scope
Learn how to verify a UAE forex provider through the relevant mainland, DIFC or ADGM regulator and avoid assuming a foreign licence applies locally.

Quick Answer

There is no single UAE broker list that resolves every account. The federal Capital Market Authority (CMA, formerly the Securities and Commodities Authority), the DFSA for the DIFC and the FSRA for ADGM have distinct remits. Match the exact company, domain and financial activity to the correct official record. A licence in another country or free zone does not automatically authorize services elsewhere in the UAE.

UAE Regulatory Authorities at a Glance

The authority depends on the company’s location, service and claimed authorization. A brand may also operate outside these UAE frameworks. Verify the record before opening an account.

Confirm the Exact Legal Entity

Start with the company named in the account agreement, not the brand, a local marketing office or an affiliate. Search its full legal name and any reference number in the regulator register. Compare the registered website domain, status, permissions and customer category with the provider’s claim.

A group can hold different permissions through separate subsidiaries. A DFSA record applies to the listed DIFC entity and its scope; it does not automatically cover a federal mainland entity, an ADGM firm or a company regulated overseas.

Mainland, DIFC and ADGM Are Not Interchangeable

The CMA is the federal capital-markets authority formerly known as the Securities and Commodities Authority. Federal Decree-Law No. 32 of 2025 took effect on 1 January 2026 and renamed the authority. Because the transition is recent, use the current CMA portal and legislation rather than relying on a stale “SCA-regulated” badge alone.

DIFC and ADGM are financial free zones with their own regulators: the DFSA and FSRA respectively. A record in one zone is not a blanket UAE-wide endorsement. Check the provider’s exact permissions and whether the service is available to your residence and customer classification.

Compare Service, Costs and Risk Disclosures

Confirm what the account actually offers: spot FX, rolling spot, CFDs or another derivative. Review leverage and margin rules, stop-out terms, negative-balance language, client-money disclosures, complaints process and the regulator’s compensation arrangements. Do not assume that an account has the same safeguards as a retail account in the UK or EU.

Compare full costs using the same product, trade size and holding period. Include spreads, commissions, financing, conversion, deposit and withdrawal charges. A “zero spread” headline does not establish zero total cost.

How We Selected and Compared Providers

Selection criteria

This page compares the official register entry points a UAE resident may need to check; it does not rank named firms. We did not include a provider without an independently matched legal entity, current authority record, website domain and relevant permission.

Because no provider met that evidence threshold in this research pass, the page does not imply that no broker accepts UAE residents. It records an evidence gap and directs readers to the official mainland, DIFC and ADGM registers.

What We Can and Cannot Confirm

This page verifies the authority names and official register entry points, including the CMA’s 2025 legal transition. It does not assert that a named broker is authorized to serve UAE residents, and it does not rank providers without a matched entity-level register record.

BrokerSafari did not open accounts, test local onboarding, measure trading costs or submit withdrawals in the UAE. Laws and permissions can change; check the live authority record and obtain qualified local advice for a specific service.

Broker comparison

BrokerSafari scores describe recorded evidence, coverage and confidence. They are not investment ratings, suitability findings or guarantees.

BrokerSafari has not independently matched a UAE-authorized forex entity for this page. We therefore do not name or rank providers as “best UAE brokers.” Check the relevant official register before relying on a provider’s UAE claims.

Frequently asked questions

The answer depends on the legal entity, location and service. The federal CMA, DFSA for DIFC and FSRA for ADGM have distinct remits; verify the exact company in the relevant register.
